Our Basic First Aid and CPR course in Nova Scotia equips you with essential, hands-on skills to respond effectively in emergencies. This Emergency First Aid training combines instructor-led skills checks, scenario-based skills, and simulations so you can confidently assist until professional help such as paramedics or other First Responders arrive.

You will learn how to:

  • Perform CPR for adults, children, and infants using the latest Canadian Red Cross guidelines.

  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and confidently.

  • Respond to choking, bleeding, and burns with proper first aid techniques.

  • Manage airway and breathing emergencies and provide care for head and spinal injuries.

  • Assess an emergency scene and act quickly to keep yourself and others safe.

  • Recognize medical emergencies such as shock, stroke, and heart attack.

  • Respond to suspected opioid overdoses using safe intervention methods.

  • Apply the simple “Check · Call · Care” approach to structure your response.

  • We offer tailored Basic First Aid and CPR courses for teams in low-risk environments like offices, retail stores, and community facilities. Training meets Nova Scotia’s workplace requirements and is available on weekdays, weekends, or directly at your location.

  • If your certification is still valid, you may be eligible for a recertification course to refresh your skills and extend your certification for three more years. These courses use the same hands-on, scenario-based approach to keep you sharp and confident.

    Note: Recertification availability may vary by jurisdiction in Nova Scotia.

  • Once your registration is confirmed, you’ll receive a booking confirmation and all course details by email. This includes your location, start time, and any preparation instructions. For online components, your learning modules will also arrive in your inbox before your class date.

  • To be eligible for a Basic First Aid recertification course, your current certificate must still be valid on the day of training. Recertification updates your skills, extends your certification for another three years, and must be completed before your existing certification expires.

  • If you cancel 48 hours or more before your course, you can move or cancel at no cost using your confirmation link. With less than 48 hours’ notice, there are no refunds, but you can reschedule for a $60 fee by email. After two reschedules, a new registration is required. No-shows or late cancellations are not eligible for refund or reschedule. If illness or an emergency comes up, email us—we’ll do our best to help.
